My Parkinson’s is an interactive web-based resource produced by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. The content on My Parkinson’s has been developed by members of our specialist Parkinson’s team in collaboration with people with Parkinson’s.

Drawing from the different areas of expertise within our team, we have designed a series of resources to empower and equip people with Parkinson’s with information and strategies to help manage their condition.

What are the aims of My Parkinson’s?

My Parkinson’s aims to:

  • Provide accessible and relevant information about Parkinson’s.
  • Introduce and clarify the roles of members of the Parkinson’s team in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
  • Promote the importance of physical activity by providing access to exercises and advice from members of our team specifically designed for people with Parkinson’s.
  • Signpost to useful information about relevant local and national services that can support people with Parkinson’s.
  • Promote self-management strategies (see here for more information Self-management | The Patients Association (patients-association.org.uk))

Who is My Parkinson’s for?

The content in My Parkinson’s has been written specifically with our service users in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan in mind. If you are accessing My Parkinson’s from another location, whilst many of the resources will still be relevant to you, you should consider that some of the local services described may not be the same in your area.

Links to Welsh language content are included where available, although unfortunately the application is not yet fully bilingual. We are working towards this in phase 2 of the project.

If you are a Healthcare Professional working with another Parkinson’s service elsewhere in the United Kingdom and would like to use My Parkinson’s with your service users, then we would be delighted to facilitate that. Please do contact us here. Please note, this contact form is not for any clinical inquiries. If you need to contact the Cardiff and Vale team about a clinical matter, please refer to the local information section to find our phone number.
