Parkinson’s can cause a lot of different symptoms and not everyone’s experience is the same. Many people with Parkinson’s also have other health problems and it can be confusing to know who to consult about different symptoms.

Your Parkinson’s team are usually the best people to talk to if you are having problems with your Parkinson’s symptoms or your Parkinson’s medication. Your first point of contact should be your Parkinson’s Specialist Nurse. If your local area is linked with the My Parkinson’s web resource then you should be able to find contact details for your local Parkinson’s team HERE.
Who can help if I have another health problem?
For all health problems, you can seek the advice of GP. You can learn more about how your GP can help people with Parkinson’s HERE. Your local Pharmacist may also be able to provide advice about over the counter treatments to treat minor ailments.
The NHS 111 website can help direct you to the best initial point of contact if you are unsure who to call ( NHS 111 Wales – Check Your Symptoms ). If still unsure which option to choose, you can call 111 from anywhere in Wales, Scotland or England for free.
If you have a new problem that you think is an emergency or potentially life threatening, you should dial 999 or present to Accident and Emergency.
