Hello! I’m a Social Worker working with adults. Social Workers support people to remain independent for longer, improve their well-being and help them to stay safe. There are different ways I can support people with Parkinson’s which could include:
Completing an assessment with you to find out what are your strengths and what areas you might need support with
Referring and signposting you to community support services and groups
Arranging paid carers or respite (this is subject to an eligibility assessment based on your needs)
Supporting and assessing unpaid carers (friends or family members who are supporting you)
Advising you about benefits you may be entitled to and offering advice around paying for care
If you or someone you know might need some advice, information or would like to request an assessment then you can contact your local Adults Social Care department in your local council.
